Random Download #2

Download Xerxes ‘Defuse’ or be tossed into the bog of eternal stench! This song is probably the best one I ever downloaded from CTG. It reminds me so much of Chrono Trigger it’s not even funny. I think it was in 12,000 B.C. that this atmosphere fits. I haven’t played it in so long I really can’t remember much except for Magus(Woo Dark Eternal!) being involved and there being a bunch of people with pale/purplish hair. Anyways download the song. It’s free!

may i be excused from the eternal stench? seeing as i don’t have my own computer with which to download said music….that and i have just had a crappy week and would prefer for it to not get any smellier? (any and all puns were probably intended)
Ok no bog for you. Have you ever seen Labyrinth?
heck yea! i watching in latchkey practically everyday as an 80′s child! geez, if you’re born in the 80′s and haven’t seen that movie, there is something wrong with you. (and by you i mean in general you, not you dan.)
I don’t know if I’ve seen that or not, but it came out the year I was born. The labyrinth itself looks familiar, but then again I could remember it from some other movie with a labyrinth.
oh wow, great song! I love Chrono Trigger. I remember tons from it. That and Secret of Mana were my favorites. Thinking about video games is making me restless… I’m trying to write a paper.
David Bowie and Jennifer Connolly were in it, and a whole bunch of goblins too. I used to say Chilly Down all the time after I saw it in 2nd grade. It got old pretty quick though….
It is a great song! I thought of it because of your post with the Chrono Cross game on it. I’ve never played Cross, but boy did I love trigger. I still have Undersea Palace’s music memorized. There was so much imagination put into that game it’s not even funny. The music is gorgeous as well. I never played Mana, unfortunately. Maybe I’ll have to swipe the SNES from my family’s house sometimes and go to town on it. Ever play Final Fantasy III? Say yes, and you win a free moogle doll! (Shadow was my fav character by the way)
awww, wish i could have the moogle doll, but alas, i have only played FF 7, 9, X, & X-2. i haven’t yet had the opportunity to play any earlier ones for lack of system at this time.
i didn’t realize that was jennifer connolly! i like her as an actress now, but i didn’t know that was her in labyrinth! ya learn something new everyday i guess.
along the line of video games, have you ever played a warcraft game? it’s for computer tho, not gaming system. i played 2 and that was good. now they have world of warcraft and it’s an online one. so you pay every month, which sucks, but it’s insanely fun. but i know you don’t have internet access on your own computer at your home right now so i guess that wouldn’t work right now, but when you do, you should try it out. i would recommend that you do.
FF 9 is awesome! I remember telling my little brother to go outside of this one cave real early in the game(because I had done the same thing a few weeks earlier), and WHOMP. He go slaughtered by a grand dragon.
. It was a lot of fun going through that game because what would happen is I would finish with disc 1, and give it to him to play(since I owned it), then about the time I finished with 2, he was finished 1 and so on. The coolest part was saving the game at the right places to show him some of the awesome cut-scenes(Like Alexander first emerging from that castle). That was a lot of fun.
I had this really old version of warcraft for awhile, and though I do remember having lots of fun with some ice giants or something, I never really got into the warcraft universe. Now Starcraft, Nikki, Starcraft was my game! Not on the computer, but actually on the N64. My little brothers still play it all the time, actually(since the N64 is at their place). I loved taking a whole fleet of Terran Battlecruiser(fully armed with Yamato Guns of course) and going nuts in the zerg camps. Dark Archons were cool though as well. My only wish was that the Protoss had medics too.
You know all this talk about video games has caused a bit of a resurgence of late? All of a sudden my playstation has become very active again and Worms World Party and Civilization are in heavy rotation. I actually bought a game called Roll Away Saturday morning(which should arrive any day now) and Monster Ranchers 2 as well(brand new!).
As for the online game universes and all. I played a TON of a game called Tibia in 2003 and 2004. My character’s name was Captain Shadowrunner. It’s like Everquest and some of those, except the graphics and all are about SNES quality, if that. It was free (Tibia.com) so hey, I liked it. I played mostly in Secura and Calmera, but once those places became too heavily overpopulated, it got real old having other people take away your kills or try and steal the loot leftover after them. THE FUNNEST PART though, wasn’t really levelling up or anything like that, but was actually going after the rare items. I figure you had about a 1/100 chance of getting a viking helmet after killing a rotworm, and so it was a ton of fun going around various caves killing rotworms and about once a month – A Viking helmet! I probably ended up with about 13 or 15 over the course of the Captain Shadowrunner career. I don’t remember what level I stopped at, but it was around 25 which for a Knight isn’t too bad.
wow, I went on a really long sidetrail when I looked up FFIII. I ended up reading a lot of comics on nuklearpower.com (it uses the FFI characters)
I looked at some screenshots and I don’t remember playing it, but I definitely remember how the box looked, so I either looked at it in a game store or rental place and we may have rented it before.
yes, I like 9. I’ll play 7 and 8 this summer probably. Around that time was when I quit playing video games as much. I’m not really sure why I did.
