The Unfinished Tales
I know everyone here is a Tolkien fan. Anyone else read this one before? If not and you enjoyed the Silmarillion or even the passages from LoTR dedicated to the history of middle-earth, this is for you. I love this book! It’s always the coolest thing to read more and more about the Istari and the Palantiri. This ends my advertisement.
I’m off to the Office of Fees and Deposits to become a far poorer person. I try to tell myself that they use my money to purchase Cheerleader uniforms, but sometimes even that doesn’t help.

hahahaha…. ok, that line about cheerleader uniforms is going on the list of the dan quotes post that i shall have someday!
I haven’t read that and probably won’t for a long time, honestly. Office of Fees and Deposits–that just sounds scary in itself.
“Office of Fees and Deposits–that just sounds scary in itself”
That is the best story prompt ever! I used it this morning and the short story is well under way. It’s crazy, but it may turn out to have a nice point to it. I owe you one!
Quick synopsis? The office of fees & deposits is as scary as it sounds. In fact, it has a torture chamber for those who have not yet paid their late fees. Outside, the builiding looks perfectly normal, but inside…..bats hang on the ceiling, all the pay attendants wear those executioner’s masks, and rumors fly around campus about students disappearing and never showing up again!
awesome! I’m doing a presentation on the ethics of torture for my ethics class as part of the war and peace group.

hmmm… torture… interesting…
… actually, i just got done reading the princess bride and it had some interesting things to say about torture.
